Centurion Magnetics Master Kit Review

I received the magnet fishing master kit by Centurion Magnetics the other day and I have to say, I was very surprised with the quality of this product.

I opened the package when I was around my friends, as we were about to go out on the boat and do some magnet fishing. The look on their faces was priceless. I could tell they were all a bit jealous of my new gear.

Anyway, after using the magnet fishing master kit by Centurion Magnetics for a while, I wanted to give my initial thoughts as I opened the package, and what I thought about it while using it in the water.

Unboxing the Centurion Magnetics Master Kit

The first thing I noticed is just how high quality the packaging is for this product. Now, that may not seem like a big deal, but the way a company packages its products can tell you a lot about how much they care about their work.

As I opened the box, I noticed everything was padded very well in a high-quality foam material. Each item had its own little compartment to keep it safe.

To top it off, Centurion Magnetics also included a thank you card with their email attached. They ask for any feedback about the kit so they can make any necessary improvements.

Overall the unboxing experience was better than expected. Without even using the product I knew it was going to be amazing.

Stickers

Centurion Magnetics Stickers

Included in the box are two centurion magnetic stickers. One round sticker and one square sticker. I'm not sure if I'll use these for anything but it's a nice touch.

Thank You Card

Centurion Magnetics Thank You Card

There's a nice thank you card included in the master kit. It mentions their whole family is into magnet fishing and how they could never find a strong enough magnet.

Their goal has been to create high-quality products for them to use and now want to share them with others.

At the end of the note, they even provide an email you can use to reach out to them with comments or concerns. They really listen to feedback and continue to improve their product based on what their users say.

60 Day Warranty and Video Guides

Centurion Magnetics 60 Day Warranty and Video Guides

There's a piece of paper with a code you can scan for exclusive content. Once scanned, you will have access to all their videos full of tips, tricks, and how-tos.

You also get a 60-day warranty when you scan that code, so definitely make sure you do that if you order this kit.

High Quality Rope and Carabiner

High Quality Rope and Carabiner 2

The rope in this kit is SUPER high quality. The rope is 1/4th of an inch thick (about 1/3 the size of my thumbnail). The paracord is braided which makes it's very strong. I know this rope will last a while and be very hard to snap.

Attached to the rope is a high-quality carabiner. What I like about it is it has a twisting lock mechanism so theirs no chance of it opening underwater and losing your magnet.

Trust me, I've lost magnets in the past and it's not a good experience. I'm glad Centurion Magnetics thought about this while designing their products.

Strong Magnet and Carry Case

Strong Magnet and Carry Case

The Master Kit includes a 625 lb magnet. It definitely has a nice weight to it as well which will give it a lot of momentum when thrown so it can go further.

The magnet also comes with a mesh carrying case that's well-padded and can be closed tight. This will be very useful so when you're done with the magnet, you can put it inside and not have to worry about the magnet getting stuck on something.

Puller and Scraper

If you forget to use the carrying case, or your magnet gets stuck while using it, don't worry, Centurion Magnetics thought about this too!

Magnet Scraper

The first item is a scrapper. It basically looks like one of those things you use to scrape up tiles from the floor. However, this scraper is a strong plastic instead of metal.

Being plastic is important because if it was metal, obviously the magnet would stick to it and you'd just have another problem.

Magnet Puller Rope Organizer

If the scraper isn't enough, also included in the Master Kit is a red puller. This thing wraps around the magnet's loop and locks in place.

What this does is give you a lot more leverage over the magnet, and a nice handle to pull on.

These two items combined should enable you to free the magnet from any kind of snags you run into during your magnet fishing adventure.

Thread Lock and Tape

Thread Lock and Tape

It's important to put thread lock on your magnets loops to keep it from untwisting during use. I've learned this lesson the hard way.

Without thread lock, the magnet will slowly untwist. It's hard to notice until it's too late and your magnet is lost in the water never to be seen again.

Thankfully Centurion Magnetics included 242 thread locker inside the magnet fishing master kit so you shouldn't have to worry about that at all.

They also included some tape that is used on the end of the rope tied to the carabiner. It starts with a little bit of red tape, but as it gets wet it will loosen up. I'd probably reapply some new tape after each session just to be safe.

The tape isn't 100% necessary because there's a really tight knot at the end of the magnet fishing rope. However, the tape just provides that little bit of extra protection.

The thread lock and tape are a nice touch to the master kit and by using both of them
your chances of losing your magnet are next to nothing!

Magnet Fishing Gloves.

Magnet Fishing Gloves.

I put on the gloves before I typed this paragraph and I'm already regretting it. But that's why they are meant for magnet fishing and not typing!

Anyway, now that I've put on the gloves and tried them out, I have to say, they are SUPER comfortable. They felt really good and were snug on my hands.

The gloves have a rubber coating on the front to keep them from getting wet when handling the magnet. The back is a stretchy cloth material so they can fit pretty much anyone's hands.

The gloves feel high quality and I don't have any complaints here.

How Did the Centurion Magnetics Master Kit Hold Up?

It's been a few days since I typed up my initial thoughts about the kit. Since then I've been in the water and given it a proper test.

First, I just want to say, I didn't lose my magnet! Actually, I came close, but that was my fault. The tape loosened up and I didn't really pay attention.

After a while, the knot came loose but thankfully I noticed before I threw my magnet in the water again or else it would probably be gone.

Let that be a lesson to use the products provided in the kit! Don't be afraid to utilize both the tape and thread locker, those items are cheap to replace compared to the magnet.

Also, always make sure to use a strong knot, I made a recent article on the best knots for magnet fishing, check that out when you get the chance!

While I was magnet fishing, I noticed the magnet had no issues at all picking up some really heavy items. I was grabbing everything I could, large chunks of metal and lot's of tiny stuff too.

There was one item I dropped though. I had no problem dragging it in the water but once it reached the surface I tried to pull it up and it popped off.

This thing was huge though, and now that I'm thinking about it, it might've been snagged on something as well.

My magnet never really got stuck to anything so I didn't get to test out my scrapper and puller much. But at the end of the day, I put my magnet on the side of the boat just so I could test it out.

Using both the scrapper and puller made it a walk in the park to remove the magnet from the surface of the boat!

Edit: Well, I feel like an idiot now. After watching the video posted by Centurion Magnetics, I realized the “puller” is not a “puller” *facepalm. The thing is used to carry the rope! haha, check out the video here to see what I mean:

The only thing I was a bit annoyed with is my gloves. Now, they are comfortable, but they did still end up getting wet.

Though we were out there for hours and I don't think there are any gloves out there that would stay dry that whole time.

That being said, I wish the master kit included a few pairs of gloves for that reason. I'm pretty sure most magnet fishers will bring a few pairs of gloves on their trips so I think it makes sense that a MASTER KIT should have more than one pair of gloves.

If you think this kit is right for you, it's available on the Centurion Magnetic Store on Amazon

Conclusion

Overall, the Centurion Magnets Magnet Fishing Master Kit is Amazing. It met all my expectations and more.

If you're new to magnet fishing or just looking to upgrade your gear, this kit is perfect. It has everything you need to go out and find some really interesting stuff in the water.

My only gripe, as I said, is I wish there were a couple of pairs of gloves for when they get wet. But that's definitely not a deal-breaker for me.

The value you get out of this master kit is more than I've seen with any other magnet fishing kit on the market. I highly recommend you get your hands on this while you can!
